Our second grade program this year featured 6 Plastique performances, and a collection of songs and poems to accompany each one. This was a performance of Mussorgsky’s “Promenade” from pictures at an exhibition. The students helped develop the choreography and we included some interesting moments of improvisation in the piece. I really thought they connected to it through the process and several parents came to tell me that their children were requesting “Alexa” to play Mussorgsky pieces at home. I will post several more examples from this program in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy this one.
